€33 Satellite Qualifier wins 100,000 at 888poker LIVE London Main Event

Tags: 888poker, Adrian-Eugen Constantin, London, Romania.
Posted on 05 December 2019 by "T".

The 2019 888poker LIVE Festival London £1,100 Main Event has finished with Romania's Adrian-Eugen Constantin taking the trophy after defeating Leon Luis in a heads-up match. Aside from the top cash prize worth £100,000 ($129,274), Constantin will also receive an incredible package for the 2020 WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas, courtesy of the event sponsor 888poker.

888poker LIVE London is the last stop for this year's LIVE festival. Constantin, a 41-year-old businessman from Bucharest, grueled for almost 14 hours before becoming victorious in the Main Event held at the Aspers Casino at Westfield Stratford City.

The great thing about this incredible win is that he only entered the event via a €33 online satellite!

The flagship event of this festival drew a total of 518 players, which generated a prize pool of £512,820 split amongst the top 63 finishers. The lion's share was set to be awarded on the last day, with 23 surviving players.

The name Adrian-Eugen Constantin has a familiar ring to it on the 888poker LIVE circuit because it was actually fellow countryman Adrian Costin Constantin who took home €114,025 at the 888poker LIVE Barcelona back in 2018.

888poker LIVE London £1,100 Main Event - Final Table Results

1 Adrian-Eugen Constantin Romania £100,000*
2 Leon Louis UK £69,770
3 Manuel Bueno Germany £44,920
4 Egidijus Alsauskas Lithuania £33,230
5 Aleksandrs Golubevs UK £24,920
6 Nikolay Ponomarev Russia £20,100
7 Valdir Cordeiro dos Santos Brazil £16,660
8 Jose Echevarne Gomez Spain £13,280
9 Bhavin Khatri UK £10,000

*plus an additional package worth $12,500 for the 2020 WSOP Main Event

For Constantin and 2nd placer Louis, this was the biggest payout they have so far on the live poker scene while third place finisher Manuel Bueno from Hamburg, Germany recorded his first-ever live cash.

There were three other 888poker online qualifiers who were able to reach the final day and make some money, including Jose Echevarne Gomez (8th, for £13,280), Matthew Anderson (18th, for £5,120) and Teresa Purti (23rd, for £3,990).

And that's it for 888poker's Live Events this year.

The next one will be held in Spain come January 2020 - 888poker LIVE Madrid.

I could say this a typical 'rags to riches' story but this guy was already a successful player on his own beside being a sponsored one (judging by his coat). So it's not like that €33 satellite beginning was a lucky scenario, this guy can play legit.

well maybe he is already successful player, but also they can give him this badge just because he made to this tournament trough their site or when he came in big position at tournament!that we dont know, only if we can see some video from start of tournament!

I would say that it's very unlikely that someone with no skill what so ever get through a satellite and then cash in big in the main event, but I suppose it's possible. Anyway, my point is that this guy most likely has some good skills to be able to do this, nothing but luck wouldn't be as likely of a scenario.

Great job, congrats to him!

This player from Romania is a good one because he has the total live earnings of $ 221,851. He didn't play for the first time and he knows this game to a certain extent. It's not easy to win a tournament how is London main event. Congratulations to the winner.

What annoys me sometimes is the weasel in which a winner enjoys. They make certain gestures of the face and here it seems a little embarrassing. I understand you are glad that you have won a pretty good tournament but you have to know how to be happy.

Well, what can you say here. If you are lucky, you are Smile
From a 33 USD ticket he managed to win 100k.
That is what you call a return for your investment Smile
And now of course, he is going to chase even more prizes, since he can buy in to
lots of tournaments, even directly Smile
