2020 Aussie Millions Main Event won by Vincent Wan for A$1,318,000

The 2020 Aussie Millions Main Event, which had attracted a field of 820 player entries, had come to a close, and the one player who emerged on top is Australian native Vincent "Wonky" Wan. Even though this year's attendance was three players short compared to last year's main event, the massive turnout generated a prize pool of over $5.6 million USD. Wan took home the title plus A$1,318,000 (approx. $910,447) from the A$10,600 buy-in NLHE main event.

A resident of Melbourne, Wan entered the final day third in chip position, with seven players vying for the top spot.

When it came down to the final three contenders, they struck a deal that saw Wan and Vietnamese Ngoc Tai Hoang secure A$1,318,000 ($910,447) each, while Gareth Pepper locked up on A$1,000,000 ($690,779) since he was the shortest stack among them. They then agreed to proceed playing to see who would win the title and the championship bracelet. Wan sent Pepper to the rail soon afterwards.

Wan held 13,665,000 chips into heads-up play versus Ngoc Hoang who had 11,045,000. They clashed for about four hours, which made the duration of the total final table play to about 15 hours.

On the 414th hand and the final hand of the day,
Hoang held A-3
Wan got 10-9
The board ran J-9-6-J-10, giving Wan the winning two pair to secure the title and the pot.

Wan said to Aussie Millions Tournament Director Joel Williams after he won, "I'm lost for words. I'm just tripping out at the moment. I was just wanting to min-cash at one point so I'm struggling; I'm just delirious at the moment. I can't believe my luck. Thank you to all the other players. Basically it's ten years of my life just grinding and working and trying to get here. I can't believe I did it! "

Australians from what i observe, do not care too much about the fires that destroyed the country and they organized this series and played. He should have initiated a fundraiser, to achieve more money to help, following the disaster that was. Congratulations to the players of final table.

maybe thats best thing to do,when you play anything,no matter is it big live tournaments or just gambling online!when you dont expect success or big win, then you play better and you are relaxed, but when you want to make money and you need it,then in most cases this end wrong!

He probably didn't believe in his chances of accomplishing anything big in this huge tournament, but the goddess of luck was on his side. $ 900,000 profit is something extraordinary and this player can achieve something beautiful in the future with his games.

If you have only luck in a tournament wich is playing trought four or five days, you have to have tons and tons of it! But is true that the better player in the world, have to have luck to win a big tourney. Neither skills is enough to win it. Many players are playing, more variance you face up. Tourneys are marvellous if you win something, but are a players killer!
